Hello, I've been fine tuning my carb on a 28 master, with safety in mind I lifted the plate on top of the bowl to watch the float. This should be done outside with a fire ext. near by. I tucked a rag underneath the carb to catch the drips, change it often , your working above the exhaust. Others have told me that new gas will affect the cork float, so I replaced mine with a modern plastic one. If the vehicles on a level surface try to measure the float height/fuel to the top of the bowl.I'd take the filter off and look to make sure the chokes open. Also theres info right here [in manuals] that has marvel carbs look it up that might help. I'm trying to set the high speed jet on mine, it doesn't travel enough to close all the way, still trying. Good luck
